Hey, time for my yearly post! (Diary of a fat fatty)

Yo!
Well, I'm actually kidding about posting yearly DELIBERATELY, but having said that...
After New Year, I thought I'd try to pick some goal(s) for the year, and of the usual default resolutions, one was to lose weight (along with eating better, exercising regular, etc.).
So a few months ago, I started weighing in on Mondays, and I started at 172.5 lbs.
I had a vague goal of getting down to 150 lbs.
Well, I think I kept to actively pursuing that goal for about half a month or so, and "lost" 2 lbs.

A few weeks ago, my wife asked me how my weight loss goal was going. And I was vague in my answer to her ("Could be better") and so, with her gentle but insistent prodding (seriously, I'm not being the sarcastic spouse here), I decided to try again.
So, April 9th was my "first" weigh-in, and surprisingly, it was 170.5 lbs. I say surprisingly because I WOULDN'T have been surprised if I was straining that scales at above 172.5. So, that was somewhat comforting.

April 16 I was still at 170.5.
But I wasn't really exercising in any meaningful way on a regular basis. I did have a good walk once or twice.
Well, my wife has been cracking the whip a little the last couple days, and I don't know what my weigh-in will be tomorrow (Monday), but yesterday it was 168.5. I actually exercised with her yesterday, a rarity (and at her suggestion/invitation, too) and earlier in the week I walked a good hour at a healthy-ish clip. I've also started drinking caffeine free diet soda. Everyone seems to be recommending I stop drinking diet soda, but that's gonna be a tough one to do. My alternate is fizzy water, and so, I'm experimenting with caffiene free soda. I think caffeine in soda sort of retains fluids in your body, so I'm looking to see if this does anything.
I think my big change I need to do (among others) is really to try and stick to a solid sleeping routine. Sleep a lot more and regularly and to use my C-PAP machine (I have sleep apnea).
Coincidentally, I just did another sleep study. I guess the last time was in 2001.
I'll be having my old machine reset tomorrow.

Let's see how well I keep with up with this, huh?

Oh, and actually, I want to get down to 140 lbs.

More to come.

PS. BTW, "Fat fatty" is another PRODUCERS reference...
